I think Martin's comments sum it up for me -

Unfortunately, the people in need of this advice (and there are many) are probably too stupid to read.

Although at first glance you would be forgiven for thinking this story was an April Fool, it is a very sad fact that in the 21st century there are 'pet' owners out there who do not have clue about how to look after a domestic animal and provide for it's welfare Undecided, to us it may seem obvious, but you only have to hear the many stories from welfare (not just Husky welfare) to see that there is substance to this story...

Most Excellent, everybody needs a good laugh on an Friday afternoon to set you up for the weekend.

But seriously,
There are people out there who kill there own kids and the authorities still allow them to have more?,.
Its about time the Government and general populous got its priorities straight.

I don't think it has anything to do with priorities - Defra have responsibility for trying to stop the abuse of animals and them launching some leaflets isn't going to do any harm in that respect; it may help someone, who knows.

The issue of parents killing their own kids has nothing to do with Defra.  Although I do think that a society that cares nothing for the welfare of animals is also a society that cares nothing for the welfare of people.
