Sled Dog Welfare - UPDATE
«
on:
March 13, 2008, 01:24:40 PM »
Hi All,
As I have somewhat of a reputation for fund raising I feel I should make you all aware that the Charity I founded - Sled Dog Welfare - as of yesterday, 12th March 2008, I am no longer involved with in any way.
Without going into the details, the committee were involved in pulling together various information and then turned this into allegations of fraud and theft. This left me no alternative but to seek legal advise, which led to my lawyer, who described the whole thing as vindictive, serving the charity with a legal letter which included my resignation.

Yeah and then some
Ewan and Bridget,
Your true friends have been behind you all the way throughout this malicious nonsense and we sincerely hope that there are some deservedly ashamed people keeping very low profiles today and for quite a long time to come.
Big hugs from us Batemans and we'll have a darn good shindig at Quithel.
All our love and support,
Rachel x, Malcolm x, Millie x and Ethan x

All of the above and some bad language thrown in too !!
This sort of thing just makes me so very angry!!
The only reason I let my kids do the Guinness Record Holkham Dash and put the sled dog welfare down as a candidate for the money was because of all the hard work you put into the charity and I'd been caught out by another husky welfare group.
Ewan, I think what you have done in the past for all clubs and welfares has been just great. I hope these people know that they have a very high standard to beat. That is if they can pull their heads up from behind the rocks they must be behind. Wish I was going to Quithel I'd give ya a big hug!! Rachel give Ewan a big hug from me please.
Oh well, looks like I shall have to find another source for my fundraising monies

Ewan & Bridget
Dont let the B's grind you down.
Cant believe they have done this to you after all you have done in raising money and awareness
for all those unwanted and unloved sled dogs.
Whoever they are, they should be disgusted with themselves as im sure we all are.

That's correct, I have asked what reason was given, will be interesting to see if I get an explanation.

Ewan & Bridget,
As a former serving member of this committee I understand exactly what you have had to deal with.
I have not taken any legal advice prior to writing this post so I shall tread carefully.
I would like to say that both you and Bridget have our complete support as good friends and we offer any help we can to get you through this difficult time.
To those that have perpetrated this, this complete mis-use of ill gotten power, I would like to know how you can ever raise your heads in the Siberian Husky world again? How you expect to be treated with respect when you are apparently not capable of treating others with the respect they are due? And before you go looking around you to point the finger at any body else, take a long, hard look at yourself, your deepest self, and know that you are probably the person that everybody has said you are.
Cameron and Lisa
p.s. I am sure that Lisa will post her own feelings as soon as she gets a chance to get online.

Just want to add my support, knowing most of what you've had to go through (well, until I could stomach no more and gave up).
I think it's a terribly sad day when all those involved from the start have now had reason to leave.

Yes of course you can.
Sorry for taking so long to respond, I left home for a rally on Friday, and have not made it home yet, nor will I for a few days, as my van trashed it's engine on the way home, I have been taken to a garage and am staying their with my dogs until another engine has been fitted.

It's ok Peter,
He's in safe hands down here in sunny Northumberland
Malcolm's keeping him right with the engine, I'm keeping him fed and watered and the cold North wind on his back's keeping him motivated
No doubt he'll be in contact when he comes in for a warm

p.s. Dogs are fine and getting plenty of fresh air!

Don't know anything about who has done what here, although I hope someone will enlighten me for future reference, but I'd like to express our complete support for Ewan and his family; they have done so much for the breed for so long, it's despicable that they should be so abused by people who ought to know better.
We are disgusted that people who have put so much into the siberian world for so long should be abused to the point of feeling that they need to seek legal advice; what IS happening to our breed

Take it you mean "our breed" as in humans?
I keep asking myself that one...
