Hi everyone

Has anyone ever heard or had dealings with Kristen Madden of Zerostasya Siberian Huskies and inuit Hybrids? She breed's Huskies and also does photography. Her web sit is http://www.wolfdog.biz She's currently based in Wales.

Not heard of her, but just looked at the website and noticed the mother of her current litter is only about 18 months old  .............and there is the 'inuit' thing ..........and the pedigrees of some of her newer dogs are, well ...

That is scary. I did wonder about the kennel when I saw their recent litter in the BRS. She says that she has done a lot of research on pedigrees........

well as both of you say it's a bit iffy. We were put incontact with her to get a puppy, KC Reg etc. We went to visit at the address given to us, everything was ok. We went away with out paying anything at that time. When we got home we did the checks with the Kennel club etc asking lots of Q's about the breeder (We already have 4 Huskies). We decided to buy the puppy. We got a call a few days later stating that one of the others hadnt been sold and did we know anyone, if not she would keep it. My husband and i decided to get the 2. We agreed a price which was excellent.
1 Week ago we got a call to say they were ready to be picked up, so off to wales we go. BUT (here's the but) the address she gave us to pick them up from was different to where we had seen them. She stated she had just moved into a bigger place. This was untrue as they evidence (inside the house)when we got there was clear to see they had been there a few years. (i WILL SAY SORRY NOW FOR SOME OF THE WORDS) Walking into the porch from floor to ceiling was rubbish bags full of dog mess. The hall was the same plus the smell of wee. She took us into the front room. The carpet was supposed to be cream but it was black and brown from dog mess. The was a fabric settee and table in the house. The amonia was bad, the dogs were going up the walls, over the settee, thare was NOT a place that hadnt been un-touched. One of the bitches right in front of us had diaorrhea, the breeder got a bit of toilet roll picked it up the placed it on the table. That was it, NO scrubbing, nothing. She just left it. Other dogs did the same. She had 13 huskies, 1 collie, and as she call's it a wolf (this was not a wolf it was a Mal)
I was screaming inside, she had great pleaseure at informing us that the front room was the dogs room they could do anything they want, also 1 of the huskies had eaten a snake that she had (bright green colour). She then informed us that the second pup we wanted the price had gone up an extra 500.00 as it was her fav. We told her to shove it. The dogs were running in and out of the kitchen, which was in the same state as the front room. Dog pooh on the work surfaces etc.

We got out there quick, with 1 pup and paperwork. We got back home and I couldnt wait anymore, I phoned the RSPCA. to report her. They have told her to remove the dogs out. otherwise it will go further. I spoke to the inspector last night to find out more. He said that they have been removed (thankgod) she is also moving out as off friday she will be homeless. He told me that his wife would not allow him in the house with his uniform on and had to strip off in the garden. He then burnt his uniform on the order from his boss as the smell etc would not wash away. He asked why couldnt we take anymore, i said i would have nicked all to get them out of that doodah hole but couldnt. He could understand how humans could live in that mess let alone dogs.

Well now we are recieving the threats from them and her friends telling me to watch my back etc.that I was wrong to inform the RSPCA. I dont care as long as the dogs are not with her.

I took the puppy to the vets for a health check as after we got home we rung her vets to find out they had not been wormed or jabs. The puppies or mum had never been to the vets. So that bit of paper work was False but the rest is all ok. Recieved all the transfer papers back from the KC and updated 5 generation pedigree. I have informed a few other site not to buy from her, thats if she has anymore dogs after she finds a house to live.(fingers crossed she dont).

PLEASE PASS IT ON NOT TO BUY FROM HER EVEN IN A COUPLE OF YEARS TIME, KEEP A EYE OUT.

I could not leave that puppy there in the mess and would have taken more, some people may think i was wrong to take him but I'm human and did not want him to suffer.

I'm really sorry that you guys had to go through this, but at least the dogs have been taken away from this sh*thole.

I've heard of some bad sibe breeders but nothing like this. Thank god the dogs are out of there.

Interesting story and website.  Anyone looked at the origins of her original dogs?  Surely the breeders should be informed if the dogs have been removed.

Also Michala I take it you noticed there is a link to your website on her links page.

I've been sending her emails telling her to take us off her web site as we didnt give her permission, perhaps if i put her on ours and say - avoid this so called breeder, etc she make take us off....

I havent been put off by this person as i know that there are people like all of you.

On her myspace (under a differnet name i added her as a friend to see what she was up to) she added this -

I hope she wont be back breeding dogs...

What an awful story,  do you know what has happened to the dogs?  We have a littermate to the one she calls Anya (it is his picture in profile).  Do you know if the breeders have been informed, I'm sure they would want to know...

Just got a Call from the RSPCA ref where the dogs are. All they know is that they have been put into kennels. By law the breeders dont need to inform them of where they are ??. Also the RSPCA warned them that they had to sort the house and build kennels before the dogs could RETURN to them  The RSPCA will keep an eye on them from now on. If it is still the same they will never get them back.

 But as of this friday she will be homeless unless she can find rented accomendation that will let her build kennels and allow dogs, (thats going to be hard to find) but also on her site she's stating that shes tourning the UK taking pic's  (confusing)

As for the other breeders I dont think they have been told, I havent informed them (wouldn't know where to start i will if someone tells me where to start.)

I notice that one of the dogs ( didn't look at all the peds ) Domino has Spirit Addverkar in his pedigree on the Dams side, she actually appears twice and as far as I remember being told Spirit Addverkar was pre-disposed in 1999 I think it was.

The world is full of cretins, it's just getting harder and harder to avoid them!

Doesn't sound like the dogs will be returned anytime soon, which is a good and bad thing for the dogs.  Hopefully they will not go back at all.

Some very good dogs listed in previous generations though, the breeders really should be involved.

I'm sorry guys not intending to have a flea in my bonnet here, but I just want to warn you that you have to be so careful as some of the comments being made herein are ??slanderous???

We are linked to this girl as we sold her mother her first Sibe 10 years ago (the girl in question was about 14 and still at school at that time!), I was alerted to this thread in the early hours this morning, but could not do anything as we have had electric down for last 4 hours. I am rather upset at the thought of an old dog bred by us being put into RSPCA care and whilst I have had no computer access I have been phoning endless people trying to get the true story/facts!

I have spoken to Krista herself, the RSPCA, local authority and another breeder who this girl has a dog from and to be honest many of the facts being stated above are not quite true. I don't want to enter into an argument over this nor do I state that I know the full facts, but I can assure you all that the welfare of any dog bred by us is taken very seriously and we have been proactive in ascertaining the full facts, as far as we can this morning.

IMHO should we really be using a forum  to slander folk who perhaps are in need of a little help? I know as a breed we have always been very quick to make sweeping judgements about folk, without knowing the full facts. Personally unless I hear otherwise I will be treating this with care, not jumping in with both feet, blowing a fuse & with all guns firing - I like to get my facts straight and from the horses mouth's' before I make a slanderous judgement.

I'm not a friend of this girl but I am concerned about the welfare of the little girl bred by us! I would hope that the time I have spent in the breed allows me the opportunity to make my own decisions about people?
