Help required please.
I am looking at making my own stake out line and wondered what the best distance between drop links should be , and how long should the drops be ??
Last question, what is the best size for the transport kenells in the van as I intend to replace mine soon .
Advice gratefully received.   Rob

Dog Boxes - depends on how many dogs you are planning on putting in each box, how much space you have, etc.

Stake out lines, my drops are 1.5 foot long and 5 feet apart therefor letting dogs play with each other, but VERY IMPORTANTLY not allowing the dogs to play so close that they can get tangled in each others chains.

When we first did our stake out chain, we made the mistake of them being too close to gether and hook up chains a bit too long, and they got tangled and ended up fighting on the chains..soon learnt and put it right.

The kennels in the van take two dogs comfortably, they can stand up and stretch, enough space to lie stretched out, but they usually end up sleeping in the shape of a doughnut (curled up next to each other) bless....

Still there's extra space if they need it. Again though, all depends on the van, space being used for kenneling and the number of dogs you have.

There are many who like each dog to have their own sleeping apartment....5 star hotel eh Smiley

I will make the stake out line at those measurments as they seem to work !
Tried to mark the map from Snopeaks link but the mark never stayed.Any suggestions ?

Our dog van boxes are three across and two rows high across the back of the transit.  they can just stand up or lie full length or donut but the width is not excessive.

One dog to a cage though an unexpected increase in numbers has one pair in a central cage and one traveling loose as she cant do the back steps.

I like them singly in case of being thrown about in an accident and also if i am away i can leave them treats, toys or drink and know who has what.  No arguments while traveling or anything like that.  They always have the same cage, they get to like their own space and some of mine will ask to go in to their room when they feel like a lie down on the vet bed instead of the nasty cold ground. Roll Eyes  the cages are long, about 3 ft 6 inches as i like to be able to leave bowls etc in with them and not have them knocking them over, just less than two foot wide and high.

Doors each end.

fold up shelf means they can jump in and out easily.

The floor of the van is the floor of the cage and the wheel arches are within the side cages but there is still plenty of room because of the length.
