There was a small problem with the database (it got corrupted) hopefully Brian has kept a recent backup otherwise, its all lost and we have to start again.

Do the hosts not do back-ups incase they lose a disk, surely they should be able to restore it?

Most Host's only backup incase of HDD failure, they claim its your responsabilty to have regular backups.

I'll email them and ask, but the last host this happend with wanted to charge for the restore.

TBH Prob quicker to rebuild it.

Maybe it became corrupted due to a damaged sector on the disk!!!

My own site didnt go down, just this one that I know of. Theres been no raging posts on there forums.

Possible someone tried to hack it, any way I updated the software and it should be more hacker proof Smiley
